Residential Estimator - Asphalt Sales

The Residential Estimator will respond to and follow up on customers' requests for residential driveway construction, repair and sealcoating. This position will be responsible for accurate proposals, project scheduling, change orders, specification requirements and billing. Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain owner/client relationships.
• Create and deliver project estimates that include labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing in a timely fashion.
• Communicate with Project Managers to create and implement a project schedule.
• Follow project start-up and close-out procedures ensuring all regulatory requirements are met, documents are submitted and the project meets all applicable standards and permit requirements.
• Review and evaluate job costs and track and manage change order work.
• Must have the ability to develop professional relationships with customer representatives and officials from local agencies.
• Maintain current, accurate information on pricing and cost variance.
• Follow up on job progress and status of estimates and/or payments for jobs completed.
• Research, identify and execute on new jobs to bid, determine permitting requirements and identifying risks and opportunities specific to each potential new job.
• Communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders; including, but not limited to fellow employees, operations, subcontractors, customers, and onsite personnel.
• Invoice customers for work completed in a pay period, manage margins on projects, and approve subcontractor pay applications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization or a combination of schooling or relevant work experience.
• Strong understanding of paving, sub-grade and related subcontractor operations is desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Take initiative to identify and anticipate organizational needs and make recommendations for implementation.
• Strong computer skills including standard Microsoft Office applications, budgeting software and scheduling software.
• Ability to manage time, tasks and resources on multiple operations effectively and efficiently.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekend hours.
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
